Back to Blogging

by Unknown - 07:26 on 08 March 2012

Well hello again to everyone on the world wide web, I have been quiet for a while so I thought it is time for a new blog.

The last few weeks have been slow and not a lot happened, up until this weekend just gone which I will come onto shortly, but first I need to start with a few words about WSBK. And those words are: WOW, Fantastic, Biaggi and OMG.

I chose those words as it was a great way to kick off the 2012 season and that second race, Wow, what a ride from Biaggi.

Everyone is going to have their own opinions about the races and what liles ahead this season in WSBK but all I can ask and hope for is that each race weekend we are treated to something just as great as the opening weekend.

So like I said up until this weekend gone I have been quiet and actually off work for a few weeks so I have missed a trick or 2, but that all changed as @nickbarrett28 and myself went up to Brands hatch for the opening weekend of the Thundersport GB season. 2 men, a transit van, beer and rain, what more could you ask for (well besides some better weather than we have)

This was our first time at the Thundersport GB and we decided to go as we are sponsoring Ben Crowe of Team 99 racing in the Doodson supertwins, F400’s and mini twins. It was an action packed weekend with 34 races over 2 days. Yes you heard 34 races. We rocked up to Brands Hatch at 9:15 on the Saturday morning, quickly got to setting the van up for the overnight camping and then hit the beer. One thing I must mention here is how different and quiet Brands was, considering my only other time there was during the 2011 BSB season.

Now there was too much action to go into great detail, so instead I will add a link on the bottom of this page to the Thundersport GB page if you wish to find out more. As soon as I heard those engines starting up and blasting around the Indy track I felt alive again and excited to watch the action ahead, and it started well for Ben Crowe on his number 9 bike in the mini twins picking up 22 points on the first day with the weather improving throughout. However day 2 was not so good, with rain forecast all day (and cold to boot) Ben had an off at the back end of race 3 whilst pushing hard and enjoying a good race to that point and unfortunately he was not able to make it back out on track for race 4. But I am confident he will be right back on it and the next meet and pushing for more podiums.

I also had the chance to be there at the start of a new class for 2012 the HMT Pre-National sport 600. This provided some great racing and promises to do so for the rest of the season. So much so it has sparked us into wanting to be part of it in the future. Butu after the weekend came all too quickly it was back to reality.

And on that note I will be bid you all a fond a farewell and hope you all look after yourselves and loved ones. Bye for now

Matt
