School visit On behalf of the Brae High School visit to Fair Isle, I would like to thank Kathy for her wonderful welcome and her patience when teaching our pupils to spin!! We had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable visit and are already in planning for next year!! The pupils are still talking about Fair Isle and there may well be sqaubbles as to who will get to go!! Thanks again - it was great! Posted by A. Cartney on 07 July 2008 Thank you for such a fascinating morning. I will now include a chapter on Hand spinning in my scrapbook, recording my wonderful holiday here in Shetland, especially the unique island of Fair Isle. Posted by Cynthia on 25 June 2008 Interesting and fascinating opportunity to look at what the sheep outside can do for you. From the loose wool to final jumper, via carding and spinning the twelve colours from Fair Isle sheep . All in a room with a fantastic view to the South Harabour. A great teacher. Posted by Bridget on 25 June 2008 Kathy features in new book! Hi Kathy and hi all lovers of Fair Isle and Shetland. I enjoyed Kathy's wonderful hospitality when I toured Shetland to research a book. Kathy made such an impression that she features quite extensively in the Fair Isle chapters. Anyone interested in the book can find out more about it here (please type it out yourself as I am unable to put a live URL in here): www DOT ronmcmillan DOT com Best wishes, Ron McMillan Posted by Ron McMillan on 26 February 2008 NIFA 2007 visit Had a wonderful time!
