Very little has been recorded about the history of Easterhouse YMCA and the many people who took part in activities, or the staff who ran those activities, during the middle of the 1960's.

If you feel able to add to that history or to provide an anecdote, a memory or even a photograph please do so and help build a picture of what that time was like.

There is no need to leave your full name or email address.

Dudley, thanks for your comment - I wonder if you can remember any names from your time at the YM.

Michael, many thanks for your comments, I was fearing that no one remembered Easterhouse YMCA. Can you remember any of the leaders and when did you go to the YM?

YMCA
I lived down the street in Bartiebeith Rd. And was a frequent member. I played football for the team and also had a few boxing matches at other YMCA,s. My friends and I loved going there to play indoor football. I also won the table tennis tournament which we had. Nothing but great memories.

Dave, thanks for that information.

I will look for it and update the site.

Easterhouse YMCA
I found a couple of small articles in the Glasgow Herald which is online.

Planning seems to have started in 1960 and the building completed in 1963.

It seems that the building was demolished in the 1970s.
