How to attend an NHS Near Me appointment
The Gp will make an appointment with you during your initial phone call. You can have a Line Check before your first call to check you can use Near Me.
What do I need for an appointment?
< >A reliable internet connection (broadband or mobile) A device for making video calls, such as a tablet, smartphone or computer with a webcamNHS Near Me only works in the Chrome browser, or the Safari browser on Apple products.

Prior to your appointment please complete a test call by following steps 1 to 3 to check your equipment works. On the day of your appointment please follow steps 1 to 5 to connect with your Health Professional.Step 1: go to the surgery website Just before the time of your appointment, go to the attend anywhere button and click the link
Step 2: start video call
This opens up a new window. Click on the “Start Video Call” button.
On some devices, you may be offered a “Test call” option: this is just a test and does not connect you to a real person.
Step 3: system checks
The system checks you have everything in place to make an NHS Near Me call. All calls involve an internet check. The system also checks you have a speaker, microphone and video: this is automated on some devices, or you may be asked to check manually. Click “continue” or “yes” on each. If asked, allow access to your microphone and video.
Step 4: enter name
Next, enter your name in this screen, as it appears on your appointment letter. Please also enter a telephone number where you can be reached during the video call. Tick to agree the terms and conditions. You will then be given some information: press “start call” again.
Step 5: connect call
You will be placed in a private waiting area. Your Health Professional will connect your call at the time of your appointment.
Please ensure to make your call from somewhere quiet and private and try to limit any background noise (like children or pets) to give you the best possible experience.
