Consecration of New Cemetery
The Right Reverend JOHN Bishop of Ripon and Leeds dedicated the new cemetery at Hipswell on Saturday 24th August.
We The Right Reverend JOHN by Divine Permission of Bishop of Ripon and Leeds DO set apart this piece of land from all common and profane uses whatsoever and do assign the same as and to be a place of Christian Burial for the Dead according to the rites of the Church of England and We Do Dedicate and Consecrate the same for that purpose and do openly and publicly pronounce decree and declare that the same ought so to remain seperated dedicated and Consecrated by this Our definitive Sentence or final decree which we read and promulge by these presents.
