Funded Projects

Can U Project £2340.00 – Health and Wellbeing

We Can! Can U?
Can U? supports young people age 13 – 19 years who live in Redcar and Cleveland.  We have recently moved our base to the Tuned In centre and we want to encourage more young people who live in the Coatham Ward to take part in a range of activities including dance, singing, music etc.  The young leaders of Can U? will take a lead in organising a number of one off workshops held during school holidays to encourage their peers and younger young people to take part in a range of activities.   Then in consultation with participants those that are most successful will be developed to provide regular activities within the centre.

A Community Celebrates
A community funday and games to be held on the 13th July 2013.
A community day on the 22 August 2013

The Coatham ward is a deprived ward in the town of Redcar. Our plan is to bring together all members of the community at a funday and games.
The funday and games day will have two themes firstly a high street based event to bring the community together. The day will bring together all age groups in the community as a celebration day to enjoy fun, to meet other members of the community to promote togetherness and wellbeing of members of the community  and to show pride in the ward.

The second theme will be to hold a games day on the beach aimed at young people in the ward.

The community day on the 22 August is to bring together all age groups in the community in the High street at Redcar in an open air celebration, with entertainment and activities for all age groups.

Zetland Lifeboat Museum: £2,500.00 – Local Heritage

Zetland Lifeboat undercarriage
Zetland Lifeboat is the world’s oldest lifeboat and is part of the UK National Historic Fleet.  This project will provide a wheeled undercarriage to ensure that the boat can be safely removed quickly from the museum building should there be a flood or fire.
