We've started the 2013-2014 season well, performing Haydn's "Nelson" mass with Perth choir Chanson in St. John's Kirk, Perth on Sunday 17th November, and Handel's "Messiah" with Perth Choral Society at Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 8th December.
Future concerts this season include a further performance of Haydn's "Nelson" mass, in Crieff this time, with Crieff Choral Society on Sunday, 30th March, and a performance in Perth Cocert Hall of Haydn's "Creation" with Perth Choral Society on Sunday 6th April. On 6th March, many of the Sinfonia musicians will reinforce the Glenalmond Festival Orchestra in a concert of various items, also in Perth Concert Hall.
Marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the 1st World War, a section of the City of Perth Sinfonia will perform the Scottish premiere of Karl Jenkin's new choral work, "The Peacemakers" with Pitlochry & District Choral Society. The concert, in April, will also include the world premiere of "Songs of War, Life and Love" - settings for SATB by Scottish composer Graham Robb of anti-war poems by the American poet E.E. Cummings.
