Bedale Town 2 Bramham 3

by Unknown - 22:13 on 26 April 2011

With Tinker, Hutchinson, Carter,Walton, Greensmith, Crawley and Evans all missing from the side which overturned Kirk Deighton a week, Bramham were forced to call on the full depth of their squad for this evening  trip North.

Whitaker took the captains armband and marshalled his troops well throughout and for much of the opening phase it was all hands to the pump.

Bedale with only one home league defeat all season took the lead on 15 minutes, beating an offside call and Bramham had to stand an early barrage but as they came more into the game it was apparent that the pace of Walton and Stapleton meant the Bedale defence were also in for a tricky night.

Bramham levelled on the counter but then suffered a further set back as the home side had a 2-1 lead at the break.

Bedale had a goal ruled offside and then Bramham got the equaliser through Stapleton as the game went into the final quarter. Bedale had most of the possession but the visitors looked dangerous on the counter and so it proved to be as Thompson sniffed out the winner in the dying minutes to give Bramham all three points.

Like the games down the years this was a hard fought encounter and  the result could have gone either way, and Bedale can count themselves unfortunate not to have taken someting from the game. Bramham on the other hand with so many first team regulars absent turned in a battling display and can be well pleased with their performance
