Tentsmuir beach
Our very first date after we met via Match.com was at Tentsmuir beach. Euan impressed Katie with flask of home made soup, cheese and oatcakes - an impromptu picnic to warm us up after our paddle.

The pebble-popping hotel
Waren House Hotel - a little bit of quirky Northumbrian luxury as a mid-winter treat, snugged up to Budle Bay and a stone's throw from the now very special Bamburgh beach.

Where it all happened
Bamburgh beach - stunning in its own right, and now particularly special for us.

The beach
Camusdarach beach near Arisaig is licenced for weddings. It just happens to be our most favourite part of Scotland, and sea kayaking heaven.

The frock
Nina at Clan Gatherings in Bearsden made my beautiful skirt (Ancient Douglas tartan)and lace-back top and also a pair of very natty tartan trews - no pics as yet!

The jacket
Kieran at Blues and Browns in Perth was a late discovery and what a gem. We worked together to create my jacket - and boy was I glad of it in view of the fiesty spring weather! Her new web site is fabby - but didn't exist when I was looking for my frock, so I went all the way to Glasgow - but Nina did a great job too.

The jewellery
Katie's beautiful blue stone and silver necklace and matching bangle and earrings are not shown here, but Craig's other designs are equally delightful!

The wedding rings
Craig at Broughton-Stuart jewellery in Dunkeld was fantastic, creating perfect rings for us and showing infinite patience as we made our choices.

The honeymoon hotel
Nestled by the harbour in Isle Ornsay, Skye, the Hotel Eilean Iarmain has been dubbed the most romantic in Britain. It fully deserves this accolade.

The honeymoon Michelin meal
On the last night of our honeymoon we treated ourselves to a five course dinner at Claire MacDonald's amazing Michelin starred restaurant on Skye.

The pre-nuptial cottage
Milburn Cottage is ideal for kayaking, cycling and pottering around the glories of Arisaig and its environs. We had often been past and wondered who lived there! It was a great base as we made the last few preps for the wedding.

Tesco vouchers come up trumps
We traded our Tesco vouchers for a weekend at the White Swan in Alnwick and planned a secret wedding breakfast to surprise the Northumbrian relatives. The manager upgraded us to the honeymoon suite - result!
