Artist Statement

Diverse cultural identities bring me great possibilities to explore and research my art. I am a realism artist who uses the equipment of oil painting; but I carry the Chinese blood in my veins and also like the traditional Chinese equipment of ink painting. Art is like a river, it always flows towards new ground. My art likes me, a person who speaks two different languages. In my Oil painting I used the Chinese aesthetic concepts; and in my Chinese painting I explored the language of modern western painting. Traditional China combines with modern West has created a new garden of art. Hoping my art works can be as one of the leaves in this garden.
