The Cartmel-Robinsons were friends of my parents, and in about 1940 I attended Sheila's 21st birthday party in Ndola, where, by then, her father was the PC.
Before the party their largish dog got to the birthday cake and ate a large chunk.
Plenty left for the party and a good time was had by all.
