Looking to make connections
Hi,
I was born in the US as was my father and grandfather who I am named after.
I have just started doing my ancestor research and can trace back to my great grandfather who arrived in Canada circa 1860s then made his was to the US a few years later.
I am planning my first trip to Scotland with my family next year (2019).
I am looking to make some connections to make plans on where to visit when I come to the Highlands.

History in The Highlands
We recently had a fabulous trip to the Highlands of Scotland to attend The Gathering of The Sutherland Clan. Mark was instrumental in planning many of the activities. We visited beautiful Dunrobin Castle, learned authentic Scottish dances at a ceilidh, and took a bus tour of the area visiting Duffus Castle home of Freskin, ancestor of the Sutherlands. Mark provided us with entertaining stories and made history come alive.

Our fearless leader!
Mark led our clan Sutherland Gathering on an all-day tour of historic sites related to the clan. It was well organized and most interesting. Mark is helpful, personable and encyclopedic in his knowledge of Highland history. He was an extremely good guide and host. Much appreciated.

So far from the information I have learned, I descend from the Sutherlands of Duffus, however, I am not entirely sure if this line is correct. Can you help me figure out this issue?
