RSM Alexander Robertson (Bartkus)
A long shot....I'm looking into my family tree and have RSM Alexander Robertson (formerly BARTKUS) of the Cameronians marrying a Margaret Gallagher in Hamilton in 1944. The certificate shows Alexander as being based at Redford Barracks in Edinburgh. Does anyone have any information that they could share which would shed some light on Alexander's life? Thanks.

Sadly one of our members Ian Forsyth passed away aged 97.
Ian wasn't a Cameronian but a Hussar who was one of first into Belsen and since has done many great deeds over his life for many causes

Hi I know this is a long shot but I was wondering if you could possibly have a picture of the
Cameroonians ( Scottish rifles) 6th battalion
Around 1944
I will explain why I am asking
my papas younger brother died on the 19th of January 1945
At the young age of 18
His name was Robert Moodie
And buried in sittart war cemetery in the Netherlands
I have never been able to see a picture of him I often remember the stories my papa told of him as a young boy and the older I get it is upsetting thinking he fought and died for his country and no one alive in the family knows what his handsome brave young face looks like
I know it’s a needle in a haystack that you might have a picture but I can only pray and cross my fingers
Thanks in advance
