Vagabond Voices

Vagabond Voices is a small, independent publisher based in Glasgow, committed to introducing new titles from Scottish authors and translating fiction from other languages. Our carefully selected list aims to reflect literary ambition, promote innovative writers, and provide readers with a range of challenging titles.

Our latest titles include The Sins of the Father by Allan Massie, Redlegs by Chris Dolan, Scottish writer and winner of an Edinburgh Fringe First prize, The Lost Art of Losing, a pocket-sized book of modern aphorisms by Gregory Norminton, and On the Heroism of Mortals, a collection of stylistically diverse stories around a common theme by Allan Cameron

"Vagabond Voices is a Scottish publisher, just founded, with an up-market European brief. Good news for adventurous readers. They have scored an early coup by bringing us a short novel by Allan Massie, Surviving" - Ronald Frame in the Scottish Review of Books.

"Vagabond Voices, a splendidly-named imprint operating off the Isle of Lewis, should find survival amongst tyrannically large publishing houses slightly easier now they have Massie’s latest novel to shout about." - Andrew Faraday Giles

"Vagabond Voices promises to offer a genuine alternative to the increasingly celebrity and TV-tie-in driven output of the big publishing machines in London." - Claudia Massie
