My grandad was George Knight of Bracken Path, Epsom Common, Surrey.He was born in 1905 and married at 31 to Violet Phoebe Wiltshire. Her family came from London and her father was in the 5th Royal Fusiliers as a Colour Sargeant Arthur Wiltshire.

My Great Grandad was Alfred Knight who was born in Piddinghoe, nr.Newhaven, East Sussex in 1867. He moved to Epsom and worked as a stoker in one of the mental hospitals. He died aged 62 in 1929.I also think his brother Albert moved with him but so far he is proving elusive!

As you read through the site you will come across family connections also with Slinfold, W.Sussex, Billingshurst, and Ockley in Surrey.

There are family connections with the Herseys, Dunns, Woods, and I'm sure I shall find others.

In the few months since I started I'm back to the late 1700's - which I'm pleased about.
