The HMRC deadline for submission of your self assessment or partnership tax return is the 31st January following the end of the tax year. So for the year finished on 5th April 2014 you need to submit (and pay!) any outstanding tax by 31st January 2015. THe benefit of having your return calculated early is not only the peace of mind that it is taken care of, but also that you will know to the penny how much tax you need to pay to HMRC.
