Surbiton Station in Tatters 2011

Surbiton Train Station 2011

Surbiton train station used to be a nice place to visit-when you picked up your train ticket, but not anymore!
Apart from the manic behaviour of people, coming in to and leaving the station at all times, the homeless people in the foyer, people trying to get on any train with a bike, the depressingly scruffy, untidy and filthy state of the forecourt, cigarettes stubbs on the floor,  footbridge, lifts, walls, the rudeness of the cabbies, the paper sellers, and the railway staff that are serving you with a cup of coffee in one hand, a pen and your change in the other-
It is like being in the middle of a mass battle when two opposing forces meet on the forecourt of Surbiton Station. People coming out of the station and others going in the opposite direction, invariably their ego's clash in the middle of the slope.
Instead, people come out of the station with their noses buried in their phones and waiting sensibly to use the high street crossing provided, they literally throw caution to the wind, quite a few of them seem to thinkthat it is safe to head for the traffic island in the middle of road, and play dodgems with the oncoming traffic, especially while running after the buses that stop by the  Waitrose Store.
Why can't the firm - Network Rail get itself  organised! conclusion - Surbiton Train Station used to be a nice place to visit - but not anymore!
