Speaking Shakespeare Classes

The actor Simon Coates provides group and private one to one classes on speaking Shakespearean verse.  The classes focus on the technicalities of speaking verse and provide participants with invaluable advice, enhancing greatly their understanding, and boosting their confidence when delivering monologues.

Simon has been an actor for 25 years and has appeared extensively with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, working with directors such as Sir Richard Eyre, Robert Lepage, Howard Davies, Bill Gaskill, Sir David Hare, Declan Donnellan, Tim Supple, Sir Tom Stoppard, David Farr, Lyndsay Posner, Sean Holmes, Di Trevis,  Rachel Kavanaugh, Gemma Bodinetz, Katie Mitchell, Phyllida Lloyd, Jonathan Munby, Sir Trevor Nunn and with voice coaches such as Patsy Rodenburg and Cicely Berry.  He is an Olivier Award Nominee and a New York Drama Desk Award Nominee, and holds a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Theatre Studies.
