The Rawdon Village Community Website

Just a brief introduction to how this site started. 

After attending the 2^ndRawdon Fun Day, some of us were having a discussion, as newcomers to Rawdon (only about 13 years) but how we loved the community spirit.   I am an avid family history researcher and thought a really good way of bringing the community to life would be to set up a website with stories and photographs, old and new from within the Rawdon area. I have started with the information from District 8 of the Rawdon 1911 census, District 9. I will add further districts as I transcribe them. Over time I am hoping to add more information that we can share and enjoy and hope that you will make a small contribution to help local charities.

 This is not a History of Rawdon site although some historical data has been included. I am hoping over time this will be a site about every day people living and working in the Rawdon area. Events that have been significant to them during there time in Rawdon.  Compare events in the 1800's to events in 2000's. Are there similarities?
