This website has been created to promote an open, transparent and democratic society in the town of Neath - Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.
Why the need for this website? It is simply because many think that relevant question page on the council's website is not fit for purpose. This has been summed up by a resident who writes:
".....if there was an official council website with questions put to councillors and answers displayed for all to see then that would serve the purpose also. But there is not and no one ever knows who has asked who what and what the answers were...."
This website is designed to help the council because it allows residents to ask their councillor questions and for others to know what is being asked - and the answer(s) given.
It will avoid councillors being asked duplicate questions - hence saving them work.
After a reasonable time, unanswered questions will be put on a separate page and will remain there until answered.
