WELCOME TO MY PLAYCRAFT RAILWAYS SITE. 

Playcraft is a two rail 12v D.C. system and its scale is (3.5mm/foot) HO. Which wasn't the most popular scale at the time, but because it was affordable, durable and sold in sets meant everyone young and old could enjoy the hobby. The Playcraft series was first introduced to Britian in the 1960s at a toy fair, but it wasn't until a year later that it became available in the shops.

Playcraft was sold to EVERYONE from shops which as Woolworths. They were sold under the company banner Jouef , shortly after which they became available in Playcraft boxes.

I first came across Playcraft last year after seeing my Dad buying  some off ebay, after which he showed it off to people at a model railway show. I remember him saying."When I was young I wanted a train set so your Nan want out to Woolworths and come back with a Playcraft one, it was great". So here I am with my very own piece off model railways history.
