what is wrong
with the BBC?
No organisation is without fault and the BBC is no exception. This website highlights the faults with the Corporation with an in-depth look at the licensing system and to aid MP's with the next review of the BBC Charter.
The menu deals with matters of great concern to listeners and viewers - these are highlighted below:-
- The BBC does not, and will not, consider ideas or suggestions for broadcasting. More in menu, including a letter from the BBC to confirm this.
- There is no email facility to contact the Director General - see the menu for the experience of someone who tried to do this.
- The BBC funding and licence fee is compared with Europe and other parts of the world. Some countries fund their broadcasting service by payment through electricity bills. See menu for full details.
- The BBC licence fee does NOT give concessions to old age pensioners (except those on Pension Credit) like other sections of the entertainment industry, such as: cinemas, theatres, football and cricket matches.
-
BBC sound podcasts give no consideration to those with special music interests, and it is left to non-BBC productions to produce regular sound podcasts. Examples are given in the menu.
- The extremely high pay given to so called "star" presenters is compared to that given to Britain's Prime Minister
- Latest..... In November 2020 the BBC changed the format for its website covering the daily papers - an item in our menu. it is now no longer possible to use the website to help you to decide which newspapers to buy. instead of showing all the front pages of the day, it now shows a compilation of front pages covering the past few days. This is considered a backward step in news reporting. The result of this change remains to be seen.
As a contrast we have added Front Pages as presented by PAPERBOY, which shows up the BBC equivalent. Will anyone at the BBC take notice? We doubt it.
