Welcome to Muirtown Community Council

For 30+yrs, MUIRTOWN COMMUNITY COUNCIL has represented & helped residents of our area with any local issues.

Situated within Inverness West Ward 13 - OUR immediate community council boundary covers the neighbourhoods of CLACHNHARRY, MUIRTOWN, SCORGUIE, LOWER KINMYLIES & HIGHFIELD, Charleston & out to Tomnahurich

Our WARD has a total POPULATION of Approx 8,000 - that's a lot of people!! (the larger Ward extends beyond the canal to Balifeary & includes the City's main Leisure & Recreational areas. Reaching out as far as Loch End via Dochgarroch)

We currently have 6 Elected and 2 Co-opted members including Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer. Our members ALL live in the area & although "elected", we do this on a voluntary basis, UNPAID & unbiased.

We receive a small BUDGET which we can use to provide donations of financial assistance/sponsorship to any local individual/team/youth group/community project etc - we have close links to the Charleston Community Complex & Local Primary Schools at Muirtown, Kinmylies and Charleston Academy.

Our Highland Councillors (Cllr Alex Graham & Cllr Bill Boyd & Cllr Colin Aitken) it is usuasl for one to attend our meetings regularly and our Community Beat Officers  keep in touch...... SO ..... there are MANY 'EARS' here, at your disposal !!

Our Meetings are usually held on the last Monday of the Month and are open to ANY local resident/group. You can contact us to raise any local matters of concern on your behalf, or attend in person.
