Mid Atlas Trek - Land of the Lakes
The Mid Atlas trek consists of 3 or 5 days trekking in some of the most remote villages of this region. The journey takes you alongside rivers, lakes and gorges and provides stunning views with the Middle Atlas Mountains as your backdrop. We will take a linear route and our accommodation will be a mixture of gites and camping. On your return to Fes or Meknes there will be the opportunity to explore its souks, food markets and historic palaces.

Staying overnight in gites (basic dormitories) and camping in 2 man tents. Trekking with a day pack to a different location everyday. Main luggage is portaged by mules. All meals provided whilst on trek by our expedition cook. Trek led by qualified Moroccan guide who speaks English fluently.
3 Day Itinerary
Day 1: After transferring from Meknes to Aglman we start our trek following the river of Oum Rabiaa. 4 hours trekking Gite, lunch and dinner included
Day 2: We cross the gorges of the Felt Oued and then we go along the brooks and cross several villages. 6 hours trekking Gite, breakfast, lunch & dinner included
Day 3: Starting our walk at the edge of the Lake of Ouiouane we continue through the peaceful environment with the peaks of the Middle Atlas as a backdrop. After descending through herds of sheep we will arrive in Zaouit Ifrane where we transfer back to Meknes. 4 hours trekking Breakfast & lunch included
5 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Meknes to Ain Leuh via the Azrou road, which is the starting point of our trek in the middle Atlas. Gite, lunch and dinner included
Day 2: Today you will walk by the mountainsides of Ain Leuh which offers a beautiful sight on the valley of Bou Harch and the first escarpement of the chain of the Middle Atlas. After lunch we will meet the population of the village. 5 hours walking Gite, breakfast, lunch and dinner included
Day 3: From Zaouit we move towards the source of the water which feeds into Zaouiat then we will climb in the middle of herds of sheep. It is a peaceful environment with the peaks of the Middle Atlas as a backdrop. End of our walk at the edge of the Lake of Ouiouane. 5 hours walking. Camping, breakfast, lunch and dinner included
Day 4: We leave Lac Ouiane and go along the brooks and cross several villages. Then we cross the gorges of the Felt Oued and arrive at the river of Oum Rabiaa. A bath is possible here! Camping, breakfast, lunch and dinner included
Day 5: Return Oum Rabia to Meknes or Fes. Free time in the city. Hotel, breakfast and lunch included
