Welcome to the Malick-Walker Family

Strange combination of names, right? But that's the way families are and we simply welcome the diversity. In this case, Malick is an Anglicized version of the Polish name Maliski, spelled both in its original and revision in different ways. Makes searching records challenging? Not to mention the fact that many of the records are in Polish (I don't read Polish!).

Walker, on the other hand, has a different challenge. It's a Scottish name, so the records are in English. But, as is probably obvious, it's a VERY common name. Not only that, but my Walker ancestors come from a small town full of Walkers, not all of whom seem to be related. The beauty of Scottish naming traditions has, in my case, made things only more challenging, as Thomas and William take turns going back generations in my family tree.
