Basic Function of Mahdia Trust

Mahdia Trust was founded on 19^th January 2008 by Afghan residents in Birmingham, UK. Mahdia Trust will be registered as a charity organisation in the near future. The basic functions, aims and objectives of the Mahdia Trust are as listed below:

· Mahdia Trust (MT) is a non-profitable organisation

· Set-up classes for learning ethnic languages for young members

· Set-up classes for learning English language for elder members

· Organize discussions, lectures and meetings on religious, economics and scientific topics that are of interest to the members.

· Bring together in conference representatives of voluntary organizations, statutory authorities, other relevant bodies and individuals.

· Cooperate, liaise and work in accord and union with other local and national religious and charitable organizations that are established with objectives similar to those of the Mahdia Trust.

· To promote and develop better understanding amongst different races, cultures and communities.

· To provide and maintain a Library.

· Raise monies by means of donations, gifts, legacies, grant in aid from statutory authorities and other loans and fund raising events, as well as from donations from the membership.

· Every member will endeavour to respect the English law.

· Co-operate and engage with other regulatory and non-regulatory bodies in the UK and in order to achieve its aims and objectives.
