About Us

The Maggie Law Maritime  Museum Project is being led by Dave Ramsay, who is Project Director of  The Howe O' The Mearns Heritage Association.

Of course he does get a lot of help from the Maggie Law Commitee, local organisations and special volunteers.

In November 2011 a partnership was formally launched between The Howe O' The Mearns Heritage Association and Lathallan School and a number of successful outcomes have been achieved for the benefit of the Museum and the wider community of Gourdon.

Fundraising efforts which included a coffee morning and Heritage Fair and a sponsored walk which raised £500.

This paid for

• the Council planning application for the sign
• The production and erection of the sign
• A new floor for the educational area of the museum.

In addition the funds are being used to publish a range of educational activities for school pupils who can learn lots more about the rich maritime heritage of Gourdon and the surrounding area.
