Welcome to Life Skills for Doctors

How do you support yourself and renew your motivation?

We all need skills to navigate through life and doctors need more than most people.
Being a doctor is a rewarding and challenging role that we chose for a variety of reasons.

Learning more life skills will bring you

    * more confidence
    * better relationships
    * greater resources

and you will be at lower risk of burnout

What skills do doctors need?

Some of us need technical skills. All of us can improve our satisfaction at work by developing skills like first rate communication, negotiation, self management, emotional intelligence and an ability to manage conflict.

Usually we need a supportive environment with encouragement and enough challenge and coaching to make progress. When we are better resourced the challenges that life produces no longer appear so formidable.
