Laugharne Playgroup is a voluntary community playgroup and have been running for about forty years mainly by mothers of the Laugharne Community.

We take children from the age of two years until they are of primary school age which at present is the term before they are four years old.

There are trained or training members of staff present at each session up to Level 3. The staff are currently working in other areas of care, as well as with children on a daily basis. We all have children of our own that have attended the Playgroup and have moved on to Laugharne VCP School.

We have close links to Laugharne VCP School and have regular meetings with them and pass on information that is relevant to your child before they attend.

We are members of the Wales Pre-school Providers Association (WPPA) who assist us with developing the group as well as providing information and guidelines to the general running and sustainability.

We also have insurance for our group designed  specifically for Playgroups and children under five years old.

Playgroup operates the Early Years Foundation Phase for 3 - 7 years olds and cater for all children of all abilities and backgrounds. We adjust the learning process for each individual to enable them to learn at their own speed whilst developing their understanding and to get them to the next stage of their development.

Children produce their own work, in their own way in order to develop their self esteem, resilience and promote independence with encouragement from staff to allow a happy, confident and fulfilled child.

We aim to teach the children skills they require for their entry to primary school education by conducting child focused activities and routines to allow them to build on each area of their development.

We are at present utilising the large space upstairs at the Fountain Inn in Laugharne from 9.30am - 11.30am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term time and the cost is £4.00 per session per child. Your child will have various activities to do as well as a healthy snack being provided.
