My name is James Holmes.  I'm a Risk Management Consultant specialising in low-cost but effective risk management solutions for small and medium sized enterprises and projects.

Between 1995 and 2012 I worked both as Project Manager and Risk Manager on major projects and programmes delivered by the IT Division of the Inland Revenue (now called HM Revenue & Customs).

I have created an Excel-based Risk Register that is intuitive, easy to use (because, today, most people are familiar and comfortable with Excel), but capable of providing high-quality management information and a complete audit trail for how risks are being dealt with.

Consultancy Services

I can provide a number of different packages of support depending on the particular need of the client:

Risk Manager

Installing and running a risk management process for the client.

Trainer

Providing various packages of training (complete with the Excel Risk Register):

• Overview of what risk management is, why it's important, and how it can be done in a cost-effective way that adds value to a project or programme,
• Practical training for staff that are responsible for actually managing risks, and
• Practical training for staff that are responsible for running the risk management process itself.
