WINTER TIME
The Craftshop is closed in the winter season, although we do have a limited display and open on request: there is always someone wanting a last minute Christmas present, especiallly if weather has disrupted the post and parcels have not arrived!
We turn the craftshop into a textile craft studio where we sew and experiment with new ideas for upcycling or making.
Hilda, one of the Eigg crafters, also has an open day at her home every thursday where we gather to have fun with material and yarns. She makes a good cup of tea too! Watch out for the results of our winter creativity!
SUMMER TIME
The Craftshop reopens in late March or early April when the CalMac ferry Summer timetable starts. Until the Sheerwater ferry comes every day form Arisaig, we are only open on ferry days then from May to September we are opne every day from 11 to 4.30 or 5.
We stay open until the end of the October Holidays and then we get ready for the island Christmas market and the next season.
Such is the island rhythm...2 seasons, a mad fast one in the summer, where we juggle all sorts of things, lile gardening, beach time and a busy social life, and a quiet, introspective and creative one in the winter time...
