A warm WELCOME to the Huddersfield Serene Reflection (Soto Zen) Meditation Group Website.
We are a group within the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, founded by Rev. Master Jiyu-Kennett, who set up Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey in Northumberland and Shasta Abbey in the U.S.
We’d be very happy to have you visit the group and see if our type of meditation is right for you.
Our practice is “Serene Reflection Meditation” – the Soto Zen tradition of Buddhism where “Zazen” – or “just sitting” is emphasised – whether one has been meditating for a while or have only just started.
We meet weekly on Zoom and also have face-to-face meetings at a venue in Wooldale near Holmfirth, typically on the second Wednesday of each month.
If you could call us before you visit for the first time then we can be sure that one of the members who are trained to give you meditation instruction will be available to talk to you.
There is no charge for the meetings though donations are invited to support the cost of room hire.
This website gives information about our meditation practice, what we do at group meetings, who we are connected with, and gives some local contacts should you want further information.
