It is with deep regret I have to inform you all that Mark Townsend , a long standing member and official of our car club has passed after an illness that he fought until the end.

A husband and father, he will be much missed not only by them, but by the many friends he made along the way. He carried out the duties of GDCC Treasurer for many years whilst he competed as a Nav with many drivers, as well as carrying out team duties on big events.

Here at Glossop & District Car Club we have a long tradition of Organising, Competing, Marshalling and Servicing on Rallies, Hill Climbs, Autotests, PCT’s and sprints.

Through our website our aim is to promote Motorsport both Regionally and Nationally by competing and marshalling mainly on Rallies and by doing this we hope to promote our Club and attract new members young and old.

We aim to provide information to a wider audience about what we do and what we are planning to do in the future.

We intend to bring you news of our Rallying exploits both via competition and marshalling throughout the year on a variety of Rallies and although we are primarily a club that prides itself on its contribution to rallying over the years, we would welcome future members who have other Motorsport interests as well as rallying.

We meet most Monday nights at the Old Hunters 51/53 Acres Lane, Stalybridge SK15 2JR from about 20.30 but feel free to email on the Feedback page before setting off to check what is going on.
