George Gunn, Writer Welcome to my website. Here you can find out what I am up to and read my latest thoughts and my tri-weekly column for the John O Groat Journal, "From The Deck Of The Pictish Navy", plus news about new plays and poems as and when they happen, and examples of both. More than that I want this website to be a working tool so that it can be a place where a healthy, robust and vibrant discussion can take place about all matters cultural, literary and political, especially as they pertain to the Highlands and Islands and most specifically to Caithness. So I welcome contributions, correspondence from who-ever and where-ever they come. I have spent thirty years as a professional writer, coming back to live in Caithness in the mid nineteen nineties, in order to be closer to the heart of the Grey Coast Theatre company, of which I was Artistic Director from 1992 to the conpanies sad demise in 2009. Many of you will be acquainted with the work of Grey Coast over the years but perhaps many are not, so it would be useful to hear from people about what they felt, and feel, about the Grey Coast, what it did and stood for, and what the future holds for north Highland theatre and writing in general. I am currently writing a book, provisionally entitled "The Province of The Cat", which will be a contemporary historic/poetic/psycho-journey around modern Caithness and Sutherland, and I will share progress on this with all who are interested.
In solidarity,
George Gunn | ||
