Gary I Campbell

Gary I Campbell studied at the University of Glasgow where he graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Accountancy and was awarded the Arthur Young Medal and Prize for the most distinguished graduate in his year. He is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland where he has also been a visiting lecturer for the past 13 years.

His career to date has included working with the Australia Mutual Provident Group, Ernst & Young and RSM Tenon as well as being involved in three start-up businesses. For the past 15 years, he has worked mainly on advising the SME sector and says he prefers to work with those who want to start their own business but ultimately take over the world.

Always conscious that it’s easy for those that advise to do only that and not really get involved in the delivery, in 2006 he accepted the role of CEO of an MBO client he had advised in 2002. With his co-director and the help of all the staff he helped triple turnover, build an international customer base and then led the successful sale of the business in late 2011. After a short break, he is now working with the University of the Highlands and Islands Management School.

‘The 52 Rules’ that appear on this site are a result of watching out for the pitfalls that he and others have tried to avoid whilst building their businesses.

Have a look at 'The Rules' page, feel free to sign the guest book but please also give feedback if you think it is appropriate to do so..
