Gaira Driving Ponies offers a selection of carriage driving experiences for those  wanting a different way of seeing the countryside through to those wanting to learn to drive a pony.

Scenic drives can be tailor made but usually last around an hour and the route runs along beside the sea for part of it and with a view of the sea virtually the whole time.  The comfortable, easy access wagonette seats 4 adults comfortably or less adults and as many children as can be fitted in safely.   For the more adventurous (maximum 2) a drive across a bay with a splash through the sea can be arranged according to tide times.

Our children’s fun sessions are very popular.  Individual or small groups of children get the chance to groom a pony, help harness him up and then ‘drive’ him with a little assistance, usually with the opportunity to have a go through some cones.  Of course the pony then has to be unharnessed, washed down if he is hot and put back in the field or stable.

For the more serious there are lessons on offer with basic instruction on fitting harness and driving a pony.   Lessons tend to be very popular with those that already ride and have always fancied trying a different horse activity though total beginners are very welcome.
