Summer Outings 2017

”Run For Colour” and Photo Walk - Saturday, 1st July, Inverness
You may remember Phil Downie’s excellent “Colour Runners” print, which was captured at this event. Here’s your opportunity to be equally inspired.
10.30am Meet in Highland Council Car Park, Inverness, then proceed around central Inverness on a photo walk.
11.30 Stop for refreshments. (venue to be decided on day)
12.00 Head towards Bught Park for Colour Run.
12.30 Colour Run Starts. Competitors will do three laps of the assault course where colour powder dye will be thrown at them. Event will probably take up to 45 mins for the slowest competitor.
Please note that this will be messy if dry and really messy if wet and I advise anyone going to wear old clothes and protect camera equipment with plastic bags. Great opportunities for unique pics of competitors covered in paint and colour backgrounds.

Road Trip - Forres, Logie Steadings, Carrbridge - Saturday, 22nd July
Date for the day out to Forres-Carrbridge will be the Sat/ 22/July. The start will be at the ring road car park in Dingwall at 9-9.15am. The first stop will be in Forres at the car park at the East end of the main street. The next stop is South along the A940 to the right-hand turn off B9007 to Logie Steadings, then Randolph’s Leap, parking at both places. (There is a photographic competition running at Logie Steadings). Continuing South along the B9007 to Ferness, the choice can be to take either to take the A939 or continue on the B9007 to Lochindorb on a minor road, finishing off the day at Carrbridge. If I get numbers I can book tables in the Cairn Hotel.

Fortrose Classic Car Rally - Saturday, August 26th
Starts at Dingwall Auction Mart at 11am. One hour scenic drive along the way, then the cars will be parking in Fortrose. This is an informal club event. Members should make their own arrangements. It promises to be an excellent day with plenty of photographic opportunities. Bear in mind next season’s set-subject competition is “Transport”!

Muir of Ord Golf Club – Date To Be Confirmed
We have been invited by Muir of Ord Golf Club to come and photograph their course, which I understand is very scenic. We’re working out a date to avoid their club competitions, but it will probably be an evening. The Golf Club have asked if we can make some of our images available for their use on their website. Although there is no obligation to do so, members should bear this in mind when attending. The clubhouse will be available for refreshments during our visit. Please look out for a separate email confirming the date.
Please note that the Golf Club were generous supporters of us for the Highland Challenge.
