The newsletter is produced and delivered entirely by volunteers and is free.

Approximately 570 copies are delivered to the door within Cubert parish and 250 are emailed every month to parishioners and those who have moved outside of the parish. Other email recipients are holiday makers who wish to keep up with what is happening and those living in other parts of Cornwall.

Anyone may request an email copy or you may read the latest copy and 12 back copies on this website.

Our operating costs are met by advertisers and also public donations and local organised events supporting local charities and community projects such as this newsletter.

OUR LOCATION

Cubert Parish lies on the north coast of Cornwall, five miles west of Newquay.

Cubert is the main village of the Parish but there are several hamlets, the largest being:

Holywell Bay
Treveal
Tresean

Perched at 86m above sea level, the village of Cubert enjoys commanding views South across the Penhale Sands to St Agnes Head and beyond to St Ives, West to the inspiring Atlantic Ocean and North up the stunning coast of Cornwall. The Parish is blessed with the golden sands of its half mile long beach at Holywell Bay, which is shielded by an impressive fortress of dunes and flanked either side by some of the best cliff walks to be enjoyed in Cornwall.

There is ocean surf, peaceful valley walks, open commons and cliffs packed with wildlife and an 18 hole golf course, all set against an unspoilt rural backdrop, as well as plenty of community services and spirit.

With a population of over 1200, Cubert has its own post office and store,  bakers with a coffee shop, seasonal stores (at Holywell), fish and chip shop and two all year round pubs (with restaurants) and two seasonal bars within the Parish area. There are several holiday and camp sites.
Cubert village has two churches, a primary school and a nursery school, village hall and playing field.

St Cubert Parish Church dates from saxon times and has undergone extensive remedial works including the roof and tower. A large part of the funding was secured from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2017 along with monies from a sizeable fundrasing effort from the local community.

There is a Methodist Church dating from 1848 which followed the first Methodist Chapel of 1765. This has been converted to two residential properties and the Church itself has relocated to the much refurbished Church hall next door in the year 2012.

What more could anyone want? - A newsletter to keep its residents and visitors abreast of the latest village news, views and muse... Well we have that too:
