BTM YOUTH CLUB
The club was set up early 2009 in response to complaints from a local PACT meeting. During the meeting a number of residents complained about anti-social behaviour by large groups of young people within the area, at the same time a number of young people attending the meeting commented on the lack of facilities for young people in the area.
Therefore the club was set up in partnership with the local police, community council and community volunteers. We aim to offer young people a safe, secure, welcoming area to hang out with friends and participate in fun activities.
The club has been a success with young people in the area with us regularly having over 45 young people per night accessing our facilities. We are staffed by a team of committed and enthusiastic volunteers and a qualified senior youth worker and work closely with the local community policing team.
We are open every Friday during term time from 7-9pm and entry costs just 50p and we have everything from table tennis, pool, xbox360, PS3, Wii, air hockey, music (drum and bass workshops), nail art, jewellery making etc etc
We're based in the Bedwas Workmans Hall, old Newport Road, Bedwas. The hall doesnt currently have disable access but this is being worked on at the moment so if your someone who wants to come along either as a member or as a volunteer but suffers from difficulty in accessing stairs please let us know and we'll do what we can to help.
Volunteers are always needed so if you can give a few hours per month and you've got plenty of enthusiasm then please let us know
