Biggar Camera Club
Welcome to our web site and thanks for dropping by.
The club are a group of people connected by an aspiration to improve our skills in the craft of photography. We marvel at the sophistication and quality of modern camera equipment and seek to learn how to make full use of what’s available to produce better photographs.
We are trying out a different approach for the remainder of 2022 by holding some practical outdoor sessions throughout the summer and these are as follows;
First off there is an “Explore your camera” evening on 6th April. Open to members and potential new members in looking at what all those buttons and functions do and how we can best utilise them. We will do a bit of practical work as well.
We will also explain our early Spring / Easter challenge. This is a few photos taken between 6th April and Easter Sunday of your take on this time of year.
11th May WATER we will meet at Tweedsmuir Village Hall and look at photographing moving and still water making use of Talla and the surrounding burns and possibly the Tweed.
11th June (Saturday afternoon) FLOWERS & PLANTS at Dawyck and/or Stobo
23rd July Biggar Agricultural Show, we will sort out a meeting time but your take on what represents a local Agricultural Show, If Biggar doesn't suit there is Carnwath the next weekend and Abington and Peebles in August
17th Aug or 21st Aug (Sunday afternoon) Edinburgh Festival / Fringe Photos capturing the street spirit of the worlds greatest art festival.
Finally, from now until the end of Sept, a Scottish Wildlife challenge to capture some images of the wildlife spread around the country. If there is interest, we could try and organise a "hide session” somewhere, but can discuss how and where, as we meet at regular intervals throughout the year
Open to all including non members
