Welcome to Barnes Bits & Bikes

A small, one man business based in Scourie, Sutherland situated at about the half way point on the NC500 route. This business has started as a result of a spinal injury meaning I can no longer do any major manual work.

I undertake bike repair, recycle or service, carrying a large selection of new and used parts. I also sell second hand bikes.

Fishing - need eye replacement? Minor whipping repairs? Give me a call. I've been ghillying in the north Highlands for over a quarter of a century.

Woodcraft is something I've always enjoyed - starting with a home made laithe (made out of bike parts and washing machine motor) many years ago to build the techniques.

Good with my hands, I make a range of other bits and pieces and am willing to attempt repairs on a range of items - why not ask before you throw, you never know!

I also worked in forestry so am able to tinker and sharpen chain saws.
