Welcome to
Aunt Sally's Problem Centre
> Wisdom and Experience <
A problem shared is a problem halved. You are invited to share your problems with Aunt Sally. You may feel alone with a problem, but others may have been in a similar situation.
Seeing a problem from a detached angle may result in a solution that has not been thought about. The aim is to present a view point that is worth considering.
Having an opinion from someone with wisdom and experience can make all the difference to a person's outlook in life.
Over the years agony aunts have been respected for their views and opinions to the point where they have become well known personalities. To those mentioned below we add Sally Derbyshire - a name that many will remember for many years to come.
In this introduction we look at some famous agony aunts for you to be aware that we rate Sally to be in the same class as them.
Claire Rayner OBE sadly died in October 2010 at the age of 79. She was a nurse, journalist and broadcaster and had her own advice column in the Sun newspaper and later the Sunday Mirror.
Denise Robertson MBE, now aged 80, is best known for being an agony aunt on the ITV 'This Morning Show'.
Anna Raeburn, born in 1944, won the Gold Sony Award as a broadcaster in 1998. It has been said that her outspoken views changed many woman's lives.
Marjorie Proops died in November 1995 at the age of 85 after writing for many years for the Daily Mirror. Marjorie Proops was a great deal more than an agony aunt, a brilliant writer, a campaigning journalist, and a social commentator. She was the nation's confidante. Into her office for over 30 years the letters came, millions of them, cries for help, for encouragement, from men as well as women, in the certain knowledge that they were writing not to a stranger but to a friend.
And now we present Aunt Sally:
