Achiltibuie is a small village on the west coast of Scotland not far from Ullapool. This oil on board painting is the pair to the sunrise painting . The silhouette of the mountain and the shimmer of the fading light on the calm winter sea truly captures the atmosphere of the scene. The Gaelic spelling is used in the title.
