WELCOME TO OUR SITE...
N.B. We will be transferring to a new site, but still spanglefish, by the end of June 2009. There will be new resources available then, including workshop sheets, images, relevant links, tutor information etc. We would like to thank the Scottish Arts Council for supporting this new development.
Artsplay Highland has been delivering training and educational workshops and interactive projects in the Inverness and Nairn area and beyond since June 2003. We are registered with Learning and Teaching Scotland as a CPD provider.
Originally constituted by the group of artists from the HI~Arts Artsplay project which ran in this area Jan-April 2003, APH has delivered workshops in Inverness and Nairn to childcare and early years groups.
We ran Taiwan Experience in 2005 with Joanne Kaar and Dinq-wei Lin which toured around the Highlands and Islands and Big Banners, Small Faces with Deborah Carter and John McNaught - both projects led to public exhibitions.
We have also worked with Artlink Highland to help with Music Trains 05 and 06 and 07 and we ran Music Trains 08.
Our recent projects were :
Melody, Rhythm and Rhyme with under 5's. Nine nurseries worked with 3 tutors in Orff and Kodaly Methods. This programme was funded by SAC Youth Music Initiative.
Intergenerational Tale Gathering with Cairn Housing: Bob Pegg and Joanne Karr worked with primary pupils and older people on story collecting. This project is funded by Communities Scotland.
We have delivered over 4000 arts training workshops in 6 years around the Highlands, working with Clayground, Coloursplash, Music Box, Happyness Drum Circles, Zenwing Puppets, Joanne Kaar, Sandra Robertson, Claire Pencak, Alpha Munro, Chris Lee, Judith Aitken, Louise Marshall, Art Exchange, Bob Pegg, Jane Bregazzi...and many more.
We have a YOUTUBE site called ARTSPLAY with videos of training workshops including Music Trains. To see Doug Goodkin training you need to become a member of Artsplay Highland.
Membership will be available this year to childcare groups, primary schools and freelance artists.
We would like to thank our funders: Scottish Arts Council, Highland Council, HIE. Awards for All, Highland 2007, Communities Scotland, Cairn Housing Association, HI~Arts, Inverness Common Good Fund, Scottish Community Foundation, Co-op, Highland 2007, NHS Highland, Health and Happiness for their support in helping communities connect with artists.
